Dear Members and Friends of St. John’s,
This summer we are celebrating the launch of our new marketing campaign at St. John’s, and we hope you will join us in sharing the “good news” of St. John’s throughout our city!
This week our new outside banner was installed and new banners have also been installed in the sanctuary, as we enjoy our new hand crafted coffee bar during church (thank you Gery Bauman)! With thanks as well to Tom Craig and Greg Bladecki for our new Welcome Center carpet; and for all who worked on the sanctuary renovation team, including Shawn Jones, who donated our new digital sound system!). Many of you are already wearing your new St. John’s t shirts to kickball games and other events throughout the city, as well as many of you are also proudly displaying our new church bumper stickers on your cars.
Haven’t had a chance to pick up your “St. John’s Swag” yet? Just visit the table in the back of the sanctuary on Sundays or stop by the church office during the week. We are providing one each of our new marketing items free to all of our worship attendees (there is a suggested donation for more than one of each promotional item).
Why have we invested in this new launch of our church? So that we can continue to share the news that St. John’s church is a beacon of hope in the heart of the city!
Now – for the next step. Each of you is invited to take pictures of your swag, all over the city! Then post the photos on social media with the hashtag: #stjohnswag. Let your friends and family see your love of your church on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and invite them to join us for worship!
Today St. John's Senior Christian Fellowship group wore their swag during their trip to The Velvet Ice Cream Factory. They had a great luncheon together and finished the day with some awesome ice cream.
This past Sunday, we celebrated our 145th Anniversary with the unveiling of our new St. John’s Historical Library. We are a church that honors our history, as we live into our new Gospel-sharing future.
On Anniversary Sunday, many of you enjoyed Dairy Queen ice cream (compliments of Eric Lingafelter and Tim Malone) as you toured our renovated church. We are especially proud of our new reception area that warmly welcomes ALL!
Our new website is also up and running at:
Some of you have already seen our church ads on Pandora, and heard our radio ads on WOSU. Plus on Sunday, we unveiled our new 30 second video ad as part of our “Year in Pictures” celebration.
You may view it on the main page of our web site or Facebook page, and then share it with your friends and family on social media.
This Sunday, July 16th, we will observe the 6th Sunday after Pentecost in the midst of our new marketing campaign. We hope you will come celebrate with us, as we share uplifting music, soulful prayers, and a relevant sermon message entitled Stayin’ Alive!
Our Sunday worship schedule is:
9am Traditional Worship Service
10am Coffee, Connect, and Learn
11am Contemporary Worship Service
All that we do is undergirded by our faith in God, our love for Jesus Christ, our call to spread the Gospel anew, and fervent prayer for our future. Please pray – every day – St. John’s Prayer for Holy Growth and Transformation. It will take each and every one of us, working together, to manifest God’s magnificent vision for our beloved church.
With abundant hope for our future,
