Dear Members and Friends of St. John’s
We did it! THANK YOU to our tremendous, generous donors who made this year’s annual
“Green Wig Sunday” THE BEST EVER!
First, we raised more money than ever this year in one week – almost $3,000! Two church families gave $1,000 each
(thank you!!) and the rest of our church members contributed the rest. We are tremendously grateful.
Green Wig Sunday benefits St. John’s Gloria Mock Family Fund, to help our families in need, our homebound and
elderly, and those church members who have hit a rough patch in life. Over the years, the Family Fund has
helped purchase eyeglasses, hearing aids, dentures, school books and backpacks, gym shoes, food, and
other life necessities for our church members.
We were especially blessed to have Christa Markus back in worship with us on Sunday. St. John’s first Green Wig Sunday included a sermon about Christa’s special gift to her grandmother, which became a fond tradition for us. Christa enjoyed meeting our newest church member on Sunday – baby Georgia Bush.
THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 26TH, we will host a special Church Open House and tour of The Open Shelter following the contemporary worship service (at 11am) and the reception of our new church members. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the newly renovated administrative and pastoral offices, and children’s Holy Moly room. Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall following the second service, and all are invited to welcome our new members to St. John’s!
To prepare for our Open House, we have been doing some “spring cleaning” at St. John’s! Join us on this 4th Sunday of Lent as we explore the topic of Spiritual Spring Cleaning, and receive new families into membership during the 11am worship service. You will leave refreshed, renewed, and encouraged!
Our new worship schedule is:
9am Traditional Worship Service
10am Coffee, Connect, and Learn
11am Contemporary Worship Service
With abundant hope for our future,
