Dear Members and Friends of St. John’s,
On Sunday morning, March 12th, at 2:00 am,don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour. Then, don't miss an opportunity to "Stay Woke" at St. John's with vibrant worship at 9am and 11am, including a compelling message for the 2nd Sunday in Lent entitled: "What Does it Mean to be ‘Saved’?"
Just a reminder about our "Green Wig Challenge" on Sunday, March 19th. This annual fundraiser goes to support The Gloria Mock Family Fund. If you are new to St. John's, The Gloria Mock Family Fund was established to help church members with emergency expenses such as, electric and gas bills, eye glasses, back to school clothing and backpacks and to help our senior citizens with necessities.
Our goal is to reach $2,000 by St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th. If we can raise that amount, our ENTIRE staff, including Pastor Gini, will wear green wigs during both services on Sunday, March 19th. In addition, if you contribute to the fund, you are invited to wear your own green wig too!
Ways to contribute:
· Donation boxes,, located in the Welcome Center
· During worship, in the offering plate
· In the Church Administrative Office
· Online, using PayPal
Make checks payable to “Green Wig Challenge” or “Family Fund”. Bring your cameras and get ready to capture everyone taking the Green Wig Challenge!
Each Sunday we are moving a step closer to the final design of our two worship service schedule. Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in the growth of our church!
The 9:00 am Traditional Worship Service features our traditional music program led by St. John’s Chancel Choir, under the direction of our Minister of Music, May Schwarz. The 11 am Contemporary Worship Service features our new contemporary music program, led by Music Pastor Dan Clark and our new Contemporary Worship Band. If you prefer inspirational and eclectic praise music, then this is the service for you!
On Sundays, we now offer our new 10 am Coffee, Connect, and Learn time featuring Christian education and programming for children, families, and adults, as well as coffee and fellowship in our new Welcome Center that is “under construction". For children at the 10 am hour, our new Children’s Director, Mary Torok, offers Christian education for children of all ages in our new “Holy Moly” program. Nursery care for infants and toddlers will be available during both the 9 am and the 11 am worship services, as well as during the 10 am education hour.
Also, mark your calendars for the New Staff Open House, directly after service on Sunday, March 26th.
Each week we make a difference at St. John’s, as we continue to live into our call to be “A Beacon of Hope in the Heart of the City.” There are so many people to thank, so many people who are involved – week after week – in these vital ministries. So to those who have dedicated their spiritual lives to this work – thank you! And to those who are just starting this journey with us – thank you for joining with us!
In the spirit of Christ's Love and Light,
The Staff of St. John's
