St. John’s UCC, located at 59 East Mound Street in Columbus, is an Open and Affirming Church affiliated with the United Church of Christ, www.ucc.org, where we firmly believe that we are called to “welcome one another, just as Christ has welcomed [us], for the glory of God” (Romans 15:7).
No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. We believe in extravagant welcome, as a sign of God’s inclusive love for all. We believe that the church’s mission is to transform lives -- individually, systemically, and globally. We work to make such transformation possible, always trusting in God's grace. While there are many needs in today’s world, the greatest of these is love. The number of people looking for a welcoming faith community in which they can experience authentic love, acceptance, and support is staggering. At St. John’s, you will experience a warm welcome from imperfect people in an imperfect world doing our very best to represent God’s grace, love, and acceptance. You will also find vital worship, learning, and advocacy, as we remain attentive to God’s creative movement in the world. Religion and science are not mutually exclusive at St. John’s, and your head and heart are both welcomed into our place of worship. St. John’s welcomes all – no exceptions. We will help you build friendships and tear down walls as you seek to move closer to Christ’s light and love in your life. You will find love and acceptance here. |
Jesus said: "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
